Computer & Business Equipment Plastic Injection Mold Manufacturer in China
Topworks designs and manufactures custom injection molds for multifunction printers, copiers, scanners, POS terminals, server bezels and telecommunications equipment. Our engineering reviews focus on large thin-wall housings, cosmetic surfaces, multi-slide and hydraulic core-pulling mechanisms, snap-fit alignment, flatness control and dimensional stability. Tooling concepts are evaluated against part geometry, resin selection, production volume and assembly requirements.

- Printer, copier, scanner and POS terminal housings
- DIN 1.2316 cavity steel and 1.2738 core and slider tooling options
- Hot runner and valve-gate solutions evaluated for part layout
- Flatness, snap-fit alignment and assembly dimensions reviewed during DFM
Multifunction Printer Housing Injection Mold: Tooling Case Study
Large office equipment housings combine broad cosmetic surfaces with internal snap-fits, gear bosses, mounting features and paper-path guide ribs. These features require coordinated mold design, cooling, core pulling and dimensional control. The following specifications describe a multifunction printer housing tool recorded at our Huangyan facility. They are project-specific references rather than universal specifications for every printer or office equipment mold.
| Tooling Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Part Name | Multifunction Printer (MFP) Main Outer Housing |
| Cavity Count | 1 Cavity (Large structural enclosure with multiple side actions) |
| Hot Runner System | 1-drop hot runner system with German HOTSET heating coils, as specified for this project. Thermal balance and gate location should be validated against the part geometry and resin. |
| Cavity Steel | DIN 1.2316 corrosion-resistant steel, selected for this tool’s surface and maintenance requirements. Final polishing, texture and corrosion-resistance requirements should be agreed for each project. |
| Core Steel | DIN 1.2738 pre-hardened steel, used for the core structure and deep rib features in this project. |
| Slider & Lifter Inserts | DIN 1.2738 inserts with plasma nitriding specified for wear resistance. Surface hardness and treatment depth should be confirmed against the actual supplier process and inspection records. |
| Core Pull Activation | Hydraulic cylinders with mechanical wedge locks. The required stroke, locking force, sequence and safety interlocks depend on the side-action geometry and mold opening sequence. |
| Resin & Cycle Time | Flame-retardant ABS / PC-ABS. A 40-second cycle was recorded as a project reference; actual cycle time depends on resin grade, wall thickness, part weight, cooling design, machine capability and validated molding conditions. |
| T1 Sample Lead Time | 45–50 days was the recorded project reference. Actual timing depends on drawing approval, mold complexity, steel and component procurement, machining workload and sampling requirements. |

Send your 3D CAD files, 2D drawings, resin grade and expected production volume. Our engineering team can review housing flatness, wall thickness, boss and rib design, sink-mark risks, snap-fit dimensions, slider travel and assembly clearances before steel cutting. A DFM review helps identify tooling and molding risks early and supports a more informed quotation.
