Electronic Enclosure Mould Manufacturer
Topworks manufactures custom electronic enclosure moulds and injection molded housings for OEM equipment manufacturers. We work with customers developing PCB enclosures, electronic device cases, instrument housings and other molded components that need to fit a defined electronic assembly.
An electronic enclosure mould is a production investment. The quotation needs to cover the actual part design, material, tooling scope and expected production volume, not simply the outside dimensions of the housing.
Electronic Products We Support
- PCB enclosures and electronic device cases
- Instrument and measurement housings
- Embedded controller housings
- Electronic equipment covers
- Custom mounting and retaining components
- Multi-component enclosure assemblies
Electronic Enclosures Developed for Your Product
Electronic equipment manufacturers rarely need an off-the-shelf plastic box. The enclosure must accommodate the PCB, connectors, switches, cable routing, mounting points and sometimes several internal components.
We work from customer CAD files and drawings. A project may involve a single housing or several molded components that form a complete enclosure assembly.
PCB Enclosures
Custom molded cases for electronic boards, embedded controllers and electronic modules.
Instrument Housings
Plastic housings and covers for measurement equipment, monitoring devices and industrial electronics.
Electronic Device Cases
Custom outer housings, internal supports and mounting components for OEM electronic products.
What Goes into an Electronic Enclosure Mold Project?
Buyers should establish the complete manufacturing scope before comparing tooling quotations. Two quotations may describe the same enclosure but include very different tooling arrangements, sample responsibilities and production assumptions.
- 3D part and assembly review
- DFM feedback and mold concept
- Core, cavity and side-action design
- Cooling, ejection and gate arrangement
- Mold machining and assembly
- T0/T1 sampling and dimensional review
- Production molding after sample approval
Topworks handles mold development and injection molding within one manufacturing operation. This gives the buyer a direct engineering contact when a tooling decision affects the molded component.
Materials for Electronic Equipment Housings
The resin grade should be agreed before tooling quotation. ABS is often suitable for general electronic housings. PC/ABS is considered where the application calls for a different balance of impact performance and appearance. PC, PA66 GF and other engineering materials may be required for specific operating conditions.
| Material | Typical Project Consideration |
|---|---|
| ABS | General electronic device cases and covers |
| PC/ABS | Electronic equipment housings requiring a different mechanical balance |
| PC | Selected impact-resistant or transparent components |
| PA66 GF | Structural supports and reinforced components |
| PBT | Selected electrical and electronic components |
| PPS | Specialized higher-temperature applications |
Flame-retardant classifications and other material approvals must be tied to the exact resin grade and the customer’s requirements. A generic ABS or PC/ABS quotation is not a substitute for a specified material grade.
Quality Requirements Should Be Agreed Before Tooling
For an electronic enclosure, the important dimensions are often the ones the customer cannot easily see in a product photograph: PCB mounting positions, connector openings, screw bosses, cover alignment and internal clearances.
We recommend identifying CTQ dimensions and assembly acceptance criteria before the first mold trial. This gives both sides a defined basis for reviewing samples and deciding whether a tooling adjustment is needed.
Where required, inspection documentation can be discussed as part of the project scope, including FAI and other customer-specific quality records.

What Should You Send for an Electronic Enclosure Quote?
A useful RFQ starts with the actual product files. Please provide:
- STEP or IGES 3D model and 2D drawings
- PCB and connector assembly information
- Exact resin grade and colour
- Surface finish and cosmetic requirements
- Critical dimensions and tolerances
- Annual volume and expected programme life
- Packaging and inspection requirements
