Automotive Grille Mould Makers in China
Topworks builds automotive grille injection moulds for passenger cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles — from DFM through tooling to T0/T1 trials. The focus stays on stable gating, controlled warpage and repeatable cosmetic surfaces.
- Center grille & grille frame
- Emblem base & air-intake trim
- PP / ABS / PC-ABS, A/B/C surfaces
- DFM feedback in 24–48 hours
Why Topworks for grille moulds
Cosmetic control (A/B surfaces)
- Gate and runner layout planned to keep weld lines off show surfaces
- Venting strategy that avoids burn marks and trapped gas
- Texture and grain-direction planning for visual consistency
Dimensional stability
- Warpage review for thin ribs and large perimeter frames
- Balanced cooling and shrink compensation set in the design stage
- Trial report with key dimensions and fit checks
Tooling you can actually run
- Steel chosen to match finish requirement and shot-life target
- Serviceable wear parts for clips, ribs and high-shear areas
- Spare inserts and consumables plan on request
Program support
- DFM feedback within 24–48 hours after the data check
- T0/T1 trials with photos, video and measurement sheets
- Packaging and export shipping support

Common grille mould design considerations
Gating & weld lines
- Keep weld lines away from emblem areas and high-visibility ribs
- Balance flow to prevent short shots in thin lattice patterns
- Cold-slug and filter strategy to protect cosmetic surfaces
Warpage & flatness
- Uniform wall with controlled ribs to reduce sink and twist
- Cooling symmetry to avoid corner lifting
- Process-window guidance for packing, melt and mould temperature
Venting
- Micro-vents at end-of-fill and trapped-gas pockets
- Prevent burn marks on glossy and textured surfaces
- Serviceable vent locations for long production runs
Ejection & handling
- Ejector layout that protects thin ribs and clips
- Avoid witness marks on show surfaces
- Handling and packing advice for deformation control
Automotive grille moulds — FAQ
What grille types can you support?
Center grilles, grille frames, emblem bases, air-intake trims and related front-end decorative parts for passenger cars and SUVs. Send your CAD and appearance class and we confirm the split, gating and texture plan.
What is the typical lead time for a custom grille mould?
It depends on size and surface requirement. A practical range is 45–75 days including DFM, machining, assembly and T0 trials. With a fixed SOP date we can propose a fast-track plan.
Which steels and surface finishes do you recommend?
Steel and polishing or texture follow the surface class, resin (including fillers) and shot-life target. For high-cosmetic areas we plan the finishing early to cut rework after trials.
How do you control warpage on large grille frames?
By balancing cooling, optimising rib ratios, using stable gating and setting a proper process window during trials. Fixture or packing methods are recommended where post-mould deformation is a risk.
Do you provide sampling reports?
Yes. Trial deliverables can include key dimensions, photos and video, defect notes (sink, weld lines, burn marks, flash) and corrective actions for the next stage.
Request a grille mould quote
Send your CAD/2D drawings, resin, surface requirement and target annual volume. You get DFM notes, a tooling concept and a quotation plan back.
- Lower tooling cost than Western sourcing
- DFM feedback in 24–48 hours
- T0/T1 trials with full measurement data
Or email your drawings — we reply the same working day.
